Tumblr, I don’t think I’ve ever told you about my possibly unhealthy obsession with Dave Vanian’s mouth, specifically his teeth. It’s true, though. The very first time I bought anything having to do with The Damned, I was 17. I’d heard a few songs and knew enough to recognize that they were at least semi-important, but I didn’t like them that much. I bought an album because of a picture of Dave Vanian’s mouth. I wanted to take it home and stare at it, so I did. When I saw The Damned back in, 2003? or somesuch, I was right up front. DV kept bending down, shoving his pearly fangs RIGHT IN MY FACE. I took pictures. It was glorious. He also wears VERY well-tailored trousers, if you didn’t know. Some of you may have noticed that I often ‘like’ your posted pics of him, but rarely reblog. Now you know the truth. Sometimes, he’s just way too much and I get far too flustered. P.S. For the record, I did grow to appreciate The Damned more than I initially did. At one point, I even had a ferret named Grimly Fiendish, or just Grim for short.
